Lip filler uses hyaluronic acid (HA) (a substance naturally found in your body) to add volume, improve definition, and hydrate the lips. At Revive Aesthetics, we use FDA-approved products including Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Ultra, and Restylane Kysse, each formulated specifically for lip tissue.
Unlike older generations of lip filler, today's HA products integrate with lip tissue for a soft, natural feel. They're also fully reversible with hyaluronidase if you ever want to return to your baseline.
There's no single "good" lip result. We discuss your aesthetic preferences in detail before any product is placed. Here are the approaches we most commonly use:
Subtle volume that makes lips look their best version, not obviously "done." Ideal for first-timers or those who want a low-key change.
Sharpening the lip outline and cupid's bow without adding significant volume. Great for those who want structure, not size.
Meaningful volume increase across both upper and lower lips. We discuss proportions carefully, upper and lower should stay balanced.
Replacing volume lost with age and smoothing perioral lines. The goal is looking like yourself 10 years ago, not bigger lips.
We discuss your goals and assess your current lip shape, facial proportions, and bone structure. We'll show you reference images and align on the approach before anything is injected. For most patients, this takes about 15–20 minutes.
A topical lidocaine cream is applied for 15–20 minutes before injections. Our HA fillers also contain lidocaine within the product itself, which further reduces discomfort as the treatment progresses.
Product is placed strategically using a combination of sharp needles and cannulas depending on the treatment area. Your provider works methodically, checking shape and symmetry throughout. The injection portion takes 15–20 minutes.
We review your results together with a mirror before you leave. Some patients request minor adjustments at this stage. This is a collaborative process, not a one-way treatment.
Lips swell after filler, sometimes significantly in the first 24–48 hours. Final results are best assessed at 2 weeks, once all swelling has resolved. We include a complimentary follow-up for all new filler patients at this mark.
Lip filler is priced per syringe (1 mL). Most first-time patients achieve their goal with one syringe. Patients seeking more significant augmentation or touch-ups may use 1.5–2 syringes over time. At Revive Aesthetics, we price per syringe (never by "look" or package) so you only pay for what you use.
Scottsdale lip filler pricing typically ranges from $500–$900/syringe. Pricing varies by product, provider experience, and clinic overhead.
All lip filler includes a complimentary 2-week follow-up. We discuss product selection and syringe count at your consultation before any treatment begins.
Scottsdale's dry desert air accelerates moisture loss from lip tissue faster than in most parts of the country. Many of our patients find that hyaluronic acid lip filler not only adds volume but meaningfully improves lip hydration and texture, a particularly noticeable benefit in our climate. We also recommend consistent SPF lip balm use to patients across our 85251, 85254, and 85266 zip codes, as UV exposure to the lips accelerates the breakdown of collagen and HA over time. Your provider will offer specific aftercare and maintenance recommendations based on your lifestyle.
Most hyaluronic acid lip fillers last 9–12 months, though this varies by product, metabolism, and how active the area is. Lips move constantly, which metabolizes filler faster than more static areas like cheeks. Juvederm Volbella is formulated to last on the longer end of this range.
Swelling is normal and expected for 24–72 hours post-treatment. During this time, your lips may look more significant than your final result. We always remind patients to judge results at 2 weeks, not 2 days. Final results, when done well, should look like a natural version of your lips, more defined or fuller, but not "fake."
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down HA. This returns your lips to their baseline within a few days. This is one of the key reasons we use HA fillers, the reversibility provides a meaningful safety net.
Most first-time patients achieve a natural, noticeable result with one syringe (1 mL). Patients seeking more significant volume may add a second syringe at a follow-up appointment after allowing time for the first to settle. We never encourage patients to use more product than their proportions can naturally support.
With topical numbing and the lidocaine in the filler itself, most patients rate discomfort as mild to moderate, a 2–4 out of 10. The lips are one of the more sensitive areas for injections, but numbing significantly reduces this. Most patients tolerate the treatment well.
Before: avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 1 week if possible, and avoid alcohol 24 hours prior to minimize bruising risk. After: avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (sauna, hot yoga), and pressing on the lips for 24–48 hours. Do not schedule lip filler within 2 weeks of a major social event, to allow for swelling to resolve.
Complimentary consultations for first-time patients. We'll discuss your goals, show reference images, and confirm the right product and approach before any treatment.
